PART 1
THE END

Part one of the comic is fully finished. A script I have written and revised over and over to start out the story of our characters- at the end.
The intension behind this style of writing is to backtrack the story behind my characters all the way to the beginning  when I first drew them. In a way, it's like getting to know how the characters got to where they ended up- and figuring out the story through their past.
Did I also mention.. they will be interviewed by a celestial being, who will guide the reader and our two characters through their life?
There is a lot planned for this story, and I am excited to share it through the art of this book.
Notes from the physical copy of the book
 Intended for the reader who is new to the story of my characters!

Character Art
Character art specified to get an idea and feel of how I want Marshall to be presented. Having a character for as long as I've had him, there are a lot of development changes and characteristics that adapt over the years of his story. These sketches and concepts are all part of Marshall, and how he grew into the character I debuted him in the book.

The Pieces That Started It All
As I commute from the city and back, I find myself with an hour to spare within the train ride in between destinations. One day I decided I give myself time to practice my digital painting techniques, not fully confident with it and yearning to grow in skill. I ended up with these pieces:

This led me to the process of how I write out a way for all my accumulated drafts of these characters into a book. An "Art-Book", I should say, as I originally wanted to compile all my art of Marshall through the years into one book in chronological order.
 But why stop there? Why not tell his story? even better, Show his story and how he has impacted the universe I have written for him. We can't forget his brother, nor can we forget the other characters who are impacted by the actions of these supernatural brothers;

As you can see, these are very...raw, pages and ideas done on the train after brainstorming the plan. I had a lot of ideas and ambitions, all thrown onto these two spreads to conceptualize the execution of this project. Even though the plans have changed a bit over the year of development, It still follows through with the idea, goal, and execution of my story for these two.
Marshall and Mitchell's story means a lot to me, having to develop these characters since I was young. This is a passion project, a project that I use to develop my skills as an Illustrator and overall Artist, as I build upon this story and deep dive into the development of my IP.
Developing the Comic
Working on the comic itself-it was not easy, but it was also not too difficult to work on. I have a passion for comics on-top of animation, so working on a new development process for a comic as long as this is something I was eager to learn and work on.
Having no prior set way to take a script into visual representation for a comic, I experimented with what worked best for me in the process and what didn't... Writing notes on the script itself did not work at all, so I found that roughing out the layout and numbering the bubbles worked better.
Eventually, I was able to make cleaner rough sketches and layouts for my comic. This process will be carried with me throughout all my graphic novel/comic projects.
